Any suggestions on disposing used Depends (Incontinence Briefs) in the bathroom? ...and in the storage garbage can (kept in the garage)? What has worked best for you?
Also, any thoughts on air fresheners?
I remember this being a problem with my mother a few years ago. Now my mother-in-law is needing to use them.

Hi, Bville. Personally, I use the plastic bags I get from grocery stores to dispose of used diapers. Just put them in and tie the handles a couple times. The odor control isn't perfect, but it's certainly good enough, and it offers some level of protection from prying eyes.

Thank you. Yes, embarrassment is an issue. We would also like to keep the odor to a minimum.
Any thoughts on using products like the Diaper Genie? Do they really work?
Any other thoughts??

I know there is/was a larger version of the diaper genie for adult diapers/garments awhile back called the Confidante. I haven't seen it in some time, but it may still be around. A quick look around Google didn't turn up anything, but eBay may be worth a shot.

As for how they work, I can't say that I've personally used one, but I know how they function and I would think they would really help with smells.

I tie them up in trash bags that appear to made of the same plastic used in the diaper genie refills, as they seem to hold odors in well. Before putting them in the dumpster I usually double bag them in plastic grocery bags. As far as air freshners, fabreeze might be worth a try.

BvilleDil

After trying deodorizers and disapointment, I went natural. I use clippings from my oleander bush and they work to my satisfaction. Try any leaves from
any large bush. Good luck!

As Mamamor mentioned,I also use grocery bags, but use the milky color ones, and have not had issues. That way they get one more use!

Those grocery store bags do double duty on walks with my dog too.
